Happy Birthday Grandpa Hatke

As I mentioned in an earlier post this past weekend my dad was here. Rick and Sandy were also here briefly to go to our annual Bingo Bonanza event to support Easter Seals Crossroads. Rick and my dad watched Caedmon while the rest of us went to bingo. After they left Denny and Vickie came down. We celebrated Denny's birthday. We had a great time and got to spend a little time outside as it was in the fifties.

We went to the greek restaurant, Santorini for the third time now. And all three times we got seated at the same table. They might as well just name that the Hatke table. It was at this same greek place that I announced to Denny and Vickie that we were having Caedmon. I said to Denny and Vickie, do you want to see some pictures. They are like sure and I hand them the ultrasound pictures. They weren't expecting those kind of pictures! Anyway as always Caedmon loves watching the flaming cheese. Opa!

Children's Museum

About a month ago Caedmon went to the Children's Museum for the first time. We went with a friend who had a pass and could get us in for free. We were there for probably about 4 hours. Spent most of the time in the play area running around and then eating lunch in the cafeteria. The rest of the time was just walking around the museum checking things out. He definitely had a good time and was asleep before we made it out of the parking garage. Here are a couple of videos.

Gymastics Unlimited

Last Friday we went to a place called Gymnastics Unlimited for toddler time. This was Caedmon's first time here and he had a blast. My dad was in town and he came with us. He said that Caedmon had to have ran at least a couple of miles in the place. Ha! He ran back and forth in this huge building checking stuff out. Here are some videos for your viewing pleasure. I took a bunch so that way Tanner could see him action.

Happy Valentines Day

We did nothing spectacular on V day except hang out as a happy family. I just wanted to post our cute breakfast we made and I also made a dessert. Caedmon and mommy and daddy had healthy chocolate chip banana pancakes. And Tyson had eggs with cheese and bacon and some dog treats with apple and bacon. The dessert was a healthy chocolate raspberry cheesecake. It was really good for being low calories.

Becky's 30th Birthday Surprise

Becky's birthday was priceless and quite hilarious. Her husband Jon surprised her by flying her sister from Seattle home (they hadn't seen each other in over a year). They managed to keep it a secret for two months. She was so surprised and I am glad I got to be a part and capture this moment on video. The hilarious part of the story is that we were at the bar and sitting by the door. So Jon needed to create a diversion so that her sister could come into the bar without Becky noticing. So Jon gets up and says I need to go to the bathroom, walks away, and then proceeds to do a fake fall. As he is falling he is yelling out something like Oh My God! and pulls a chair down with him in order to make a huge scene. He then gets up and announces to the whole bar that it is Becky's 30th birthday and we cheer and clap. We also overheard someone say, he is not driving home. Ha! While this is all going on, her sister rushes in away from the door and goes to the bar to pick up the shots that Jon had already ordered. She brings the shots to the table and starts singing Happy Birthday. Here's the priceless video.

Christmas 2013

Better late than never right? Christmas was a crazy time as usual and it didn't help that Caedmon had a double ear infection as well. Went to grandma and grandpa Dawson's house on the 24th. We opened gifts there and also went to the Christmas Eve candlelight service. Then went to Lafayette on the 25th. Went to great grandma's house first and then went to grandma and grandpa Hatke's house to do gifts with them. Stayed in Lafayette till Friday the 27th. Then get home and that same day grandpa Cichos and uncle Paul and Aunt Heather Cichos and the kids came to our house to open gifts. My dad was babysitting a dog Annie and brought her down too. She was a sweetie but didn't like to walk on our hardwood floors lol. Dad stayed till Sunday. Despite Caedmon not feeling well it was a nice Christmas spending time with family and welcoming Uncle Taylor back home.
