Best Wishes Uncle Brandon

Uncle Brandon joined the Army and left for boot camp in Oaklahoma last week.  We went to Lafayette over the weekend of the snow storm to see him one last time before he left.  Then his recruiter drove him to Indy during the storm on Sunday because he was supposed to leave Monday.  Well after he got to his hotel he found out he wasn't leaving Monday after all due to the storm.  The recruiter had already left and went back to Lafayette and Brandon remained stuck at the hotel.  Although he was bored out of his mind we were fortunate to see him one more time before he left.  We finally were able to get out after the storm on Wednesday and we picked him up and went to dinner at Bob Evans.  Then took him back to his hotel and he showed us around and told us of all the crazy things he did while there since he was so bored.  Such as swim in jeans in the pool and pushed some of the other recruits down the hallways of the hotel in the rolling chairs.

He will be missed but this will actually be really good for him.  Here are some pictures of him and Caedmon before he left.

Happy New Year (a little late)

We went to my friend Becky's house to ring in the New Year. I had so much fun that I don't think I laughed that hard in a really long time. So there were 7 of us adults and 2 kids. There was Becky and of course her husband Jon, blessed to have Taylor and Heather there, Tanner and I, and Nate (a friend currently living with Becky and Jon). It is so fun watching Caedmon play with Adrian (and other kids) and he has a blast.

So we played this card game that Heather got for Christmas, Cards Against Humanity. It is like an inappropriate adult version of Apples to Apples. The box said its a card game for horrible people and we all said we are going to hell for playing it. It seems like it can't be that bad till you start looking at the cards and your like OMG, who comes up with this stuff?

After the lil boys went to bed we played some flippy cup out in the garage for a little bit. Not sure if I want to fess that I was on fire with that game.

Lastly to ring in the new year we headed up to their bonus room and watched the ball drop on the BIG screen (a 110 inch projection screen). It was a little funny because some people forgot that Dick Clark passed away.  We were like where is Dick Clark?

Last year Heather brought in the new year with some Mexicans since her husband was deployed. And one of their traditions is to eat 12 grapes between 11:59 and midnight and it will bring good luck. First of all they could of bought smaller grapes. These things were enormous! Therefore I didn't get them all eaten and I suck. Lol. But Tanner on the other hand started gagging on his grapes. LOL. I can still envision it in my mind and laugh everytime I think about it or am reminded of it.

On New Years Day we went to Heather's moms house for a playdate with her other nephew Noah (Heather's sisters son). If I haven't already mentioned this in an earlier post, Noah is just 3 weeks older than Caedmon.  And if you have never seen pictures of Noah you would of thought they were twins because they both have red hair.  Adrian came along too and the boys had fun.

So besides the new years before Caedmon was born, this was one of the best new years ever (or at least that I can remember). Ha! I pray that 2014 will bring you many blessings!

this was like the only pic I took on NYE and don't ask

Silly Aunt Heather H

So we got a Christmas card this year from Heather and Taylor and silly Aunt Heather forgot to change the names on the card.  It was too funny.

they better get busy making Jesse and Kelly  ;-)

she only addressed it to Caedmon, how rude  ;-)
