Family/First Year Photos

So below are some of the pics.  I don't know what it is but apparently we are notorious for picking out crappy photographers.  But I guess that is what you get for a cheap price without spending an arm and a leg.  We had the crappiest wedding photos and from what I heard the photographer was a bitch.  We liked our newborn and 6 months photographer but she wasn't the best at family pictures.  So then for this session we went with an old friend from a bible study group in the past.  She did a good job but didn't follow through with editing the pictures so Tanner did some of them himself.  People can be so rude.  Anyway tried to put these in a particular order but blogger being stubborn and I give up.  So here you go....

Happy Dance and Update

So I woke up this morning and after doing my usual check FB and email to help me wake up I did a little happy dance in bed.  Yes Tanner thought I was nuts.  From checking my email I noticed that Level 1 of StartSwell was coming to my doorstep today!  StartSwell is if you earn $600 in personal volume the first 30 days with 31 Gifts you get free products.  I actually had $789 in personal volume my first month.  They give you free products for your business starting off well.  I also have some other free products that are on its way for another incentive they offered that I met.  31 all the time is offering incentives for the opportunity to earn free products (another reason I love this company).

So one of the products I got is the Vary You Backpack purse.  I have wanted this for awhile, which is regularly $65 and I got it for FREE! I have been looking for a purse/bag that can be worn crossbody (this one does and can be worn 4 different ways).  Reason being, Caedmon is heavy and trying to lug him and everything else, tired of the stupid diaper bag falling off my shoulder.  Yes this post is probably a little boring but Heather Hatke wanted a post so here I am trying to think of things to talk about.  :-)  Plus I have been really excited about this 31 opportunity. 

Also after I started this business I realized another reason why doing this is hopefully good for me.  So about a month ago or more I made a realization about myself.  I found myself being slightly depressed and in a funk.  I would get mad at my husband because I would do all these things around the house, make crafts/decorate for the holidays, come up with all these cool things to surprise him with and it seemed like he didn't care or he never did anything in return (of course I understand I have more time to do these things than he does).  But I realized that by not working I am not getting the praise from my boss or co-workers that I am doing a good job.  I think that is what drives me to be a hard worker.  Since I don't have a boss I am putting all that responsibility on my husband to praise me.  And yes of course he should do some things but its not fair to him at the same time to have to have that responsibility.  So maybe earning the incentives and commission will help.

Anyway enough of 31.  This month just has so much to look forward to.  I am also excited to see my friend Becky tomorrow!  They are coming into town so we can hang out and go to dinner for my birthday.  Taylor comes back to the US and both him and Heather are coming home for Christmas.  Cannot wait to see them. 

Heather Hatke, feel free to keep bugging me about updating the blog anytime like you just did.  Ha!  So there is really not much to report honestly.  I do want to finish a post I started regarding a summary of the summer.  And of course Caedmon is walking!  Besides that everything has been about the same.  I need to have Tanner do another one of his random pics posts again. Happy 1st Birthday Caedmon!!

I think I sort of forgot to post this.  I might have been waiting for more pics off of Tanner's phone but oh well.  I think I got enough here.

Caedmon's first birthday party had a little situation happen but ended up being a success.  Was supposed to have it at McCormick's Creek State Park campground during our annual Halloween camp trip.  We just get to the campground and get a call from my father-in-law.  His camper has been rear ended by a dump truck.  The camper is not usable and we cannot camp without his camper because ours does not have heat and Caedmon supposed to sleep with them in their camper.  So good thing we hadn't started unpacking.  So we do the one and a half hour drive back home.  Caedmon was not happy because he wanted out of the car seat.

I wanted his first birthday to be perfect (what mom doesn't?).  The campground has trick or treating and we were going to have the kids dress up in costume and go trick or treating after the party.  So I was bummed that this was not going to be able to happen.  So I called everyone up that said they were coming and told them the party has been moved to our house instead.  I was happy that everything worked out (despite not being able to do the trick or treating) and the party was a success.  It was probably better that we had it at our house because it was warmer than our campsite.  The campsite was in the middle of the woods and it was freezing.  And we didn't have to lug all the gifts home.  Below are some pictures from the party.

Thirty One Gifts

For awhile now I have been contemplating selling 31 Gifts and I am finally going to make the plunge.  I was hesitant because I used to sell Lia Sophia but that didn't work out.  But I think part of it was that I don't think I was as excited about it as I am with 31.  Plus I had a full time job at the time and didn't want to put much effort into it.  Now that I am a stay at home mom I will have more time during the day to do things with this business.  And then the other reason for doing it is that this momma just needs a break from her boy or might go insane.  So this will give me an excuse to get out of the house some evenings and have some girl time. 

Another reason for joining this business is not only do I need time away from my boy, but he needs time away from me.  He needs to start getting used to me not being around all the time.  He is with me 24/7 that he doesn't know what it is like for me to leave.  We had an incident at the YMCA yesterday.  I hadn't been there in awhile so when I left him in the child watch, apparently he was having some separation anxiety issues and would not calm down.  So they made me come get him and so therefore we had to leave.  I was so upset because in typical Kim fashion I overreact at everything at first.  And so I was like great now I have to cancel my membership and never come back again because Caedmon wants his mommy and they will make me get him and leave.  But after speaking with some friends and family I calmed down and realized that one, he has a cold and isn't feeling well and probably just wants his mommy.  And two, we just have to keep trying and he will get used to it eventually.  Maybe I need to go in there with him and play with him for a little bit in that environment before I run out of there.  Make sure he is playing and is happy before I leave.  So after this cold subsides I will try it again. 

So selling 31 will be another excuse for him to get used to me not being around.  And of course it is a way to get a bunch of products for a cheap price and free products as well.  As a stay at home mom I just love all of the products to help keep me organized.  And lastly to earn extra money as well.  I am pretty excited about this opportunity.

And Lastly 12 Months! (and a Year in Review)

Amazing how fast a year goes by.  Caedmon loves to be independent with his eating and is a very good eater.  He is a very good sleeper as well.  He is now starting to go to one nap a day for about 2 hours long.  Sometimes he might take a second nap.  He might fight his nap for a little bit but usually goes right to sleep with no fussing at bed time.  He likes to be in the same room as you so if you leave the room he will usually follow you.  If something makes him mad he will whine and he gets mad if you do not let him do what he wants to do.  Sometimes him getting mad is annoying and other times it is funny.  He likes to be playing independently and then come over to you for a quick hug and then go back to what he is doing.  He likes to go outside and if you go out without him he gets mad.  He likes stroller rides, swinging, and pushing him on toys that have wheels.  He is not walking yet but is getting very close.  He will sometimes walk behind a toy that has wheels and he can stand on his own without holding onto anything.  He just doesnt have the confidence try to take any steps on his own.  I think he is afraid or nervous.  Unfortunately he still likes his pacifiers and we think he has a foot fetish.  He always manages to pick out socks out of the piles of clean laundry over any other article of clothing.  And he likes to play with shoes too.  He gets excited when Thomas the train or Bubble Guppies comes on the TV.  He likes to poop in a freshly changed diaper.  He does very well on long car rides as long as he doesn't have diarrhea.  I could keep going on and on but will stop here.  He is generally a very happy little boy.  Just talk to him and he will smile.  He is a very loved little boy and we love him to death. 

Caedmon's First Haircut

Caedmon got his first haircut on Halloween.  The weather was bad and trick or treating was postponed to Nov. 1st around here.  He didn't go trick or treating anyway because he is too young, I already had plans for Nov. 1st, and we don't hardly ever get trick or treaters in our neighborhood anyway.  We were going to go to Lafayette to grandma and grandpa Hatke's house and have Caedmon wear his costume and help pass out candy at their house but again the weather was crappy.  So we decided to stay home and get his haircut because we had family pictures this past Saturday that we needed to get ready for.  And if we would have been able to do our annual Halloween camp trip, he would have gotten to trick or treat there.  More on that later.

So he did really well at his first haircut.  He was a little squirmy but with mom and dad making fools out of ourselves we got him to stay put.  It was too difficult to choose which pictures to put on here so I just put them all on.  Enjoy!
